🫶 We're back! Today's topic is SORRY NOT SORRY. There's a lot of things we say sorry for that we shouldn't. It's nice to be nice, but you deserve to protect your mental health just as much as the next person. What are some things you should stop apologizing for?

- Prioritizing time to take care of your physical and mental needs

- Setting and enforcing your own boundaries

- Being a flawed human, because nobody is perfect

- Showing emotions or being upset, you're allowed to feel and shouldn't have to hide it

- Asking questions

- Going for what you want, aiming for success

Reflect: Take time to jot down things that you constantly find yourself apologizing for that you don't need to be sorry for. Be aware of them and remind yourself that not everything requires a sorry.

Because this can effect everyone in the family, it's a great idea to come up with a burnout plan for every member. First step is to sit down and discuss how to recognize burnout. Next is to throw around ideas as to what each person can do to avoid or relieve burnout. Create a bullet list, a poster, something that can be used as a reminder as to what to do when you reach that snapping point.

Finding the right health care professional or program can be a lot of work. Here’s where you can start. 👇

1. Ask someone you trust for a recommendation like a doctor, social worker, loved ones, or friends you trust.

2. During your search, look for treatment or support that: Accepts your insurance or offers free or low-cost services

3. If the cost is keeping you from getting help, learn about how to pay for treatment or find free or low-cost options at https://buff.ly/3WrjmQm

If you are feeling alone and having thoughts of suicide—whether or not you are in crisis—or know someone who is, don’t remain silent. Talk to someone you can trust through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call or text 988 or chat the lifeline.
