Trying to build a new habit, handle stress differently, or make a positive change? Remember: you don’t have to get it right the first time.
The Cycle of Change shows us that growth happens in stages. You might think about making a change, prepare for it, take action, fall back into an old pattern, and then try again.
That’s not failure. That’s part of learning.
For teens and families, resilience can look like:
💭 Talking about what isn’t working
🧠 Trying a new way to cope
🤝 Asking for support
🌱 Building healthier routines
🔄 Starting again when things don’t go as planned

Journal Prompt: What’s one small change you’re working on, and what would help you keep going?
The Cycle of Change poster from Social Worker's Toolbox is a great visual tool for starting conversations about change, resilience, coping, and healthy habits.
Change takes time. Progress can have a few U-turns. Keep going. 💚
