Celebrating You – Pride, Self-Worth & Resilience
June is Pride Month, a time to uplift and honor the strength, courage, and identity of LGBTQ+ individuals and families. At its heart, Pride is about belonging, visibility, and love....and that includes self-love.
This week, we’re focusing on one of the most powerful wellness practices there is: celebrating yourself exactly as you are.

Why Self-Celebration Matters
For LGBTQ+ youth especially, self-worth can be challenged by stigma, exclusion, or lack of support. But building a strong sense of identity and value is not only empowering — it’s protective.
✅ Youth who feel affirmed are more resilient.
✅ Supportive environments reduce risk of mental health struggles and substance misuse.
✅ Self-celebration strengthens self-awareness, which helps us make healthier choices.
✍️ Journal Prompts to Celebrate You
Set aside 10–15 minutes today with a notebook or notes app. Try one or more of these reflection questions:
“What makes me proud of who I am?”
“What parts of me have I learned to love more over time?”
“How do I show up authentically in the world?"
“What do I want others to know and celebrate about me?”
If you're supporting a young person, do these together as a family or in a safe group setting. Conversations like this foster connection and belonging, both powerful prevention tools.
Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential. And for LGBTQ+ youth and families, self-celebration is self-care. This Pride Month and beyond, let’s remind ourselves and each other:
🌈You don’t have to change to be loved. You already are.
