DEA Dispose-A-Med Event

Dispose A Med is comprised of concerned citizens like yourself focused on minimizing the abuse of prescription medications amongst teens and preventing accidental drug poisonings of children and the elderly. By providing a safe and effective method of drug disposal, the Dispose A Med program minimizes the introduction of pollutants into our environment and helps insure high quality water in our aquifers.  Formed in 2009, Dispose A Med includes representatives from a variety of community partners including law enforcement, fire departments, pharmacies, water and wastewater utilities and community coalitions.

 Our Mission 

Dispose-a-Med works to be a resource to coordinate, educate and promote safe disposal, storage and use of prescription medication to protect public health, the environment and preserve drinking water.

 Our Vision 

Dispose-a-Med strives to provide the most effective information, resources and coordination of proper disposal of medication in southern Arizona.

 Our Goals 

Dispose-a-Med collaborative created a strategic plan for 2016-2017 that reflects nine community goals identified as a priorities to focus efforts and resources.  Dispose A Med is for public, individual use only. Businesses or nonprofits with prescription drugs to dispose should follow their own protocol.
